Hi! I'm not a "spring chicken", but a plucky, "free range" chicken. I like to search/stumble the "net" for fun, creative, eclectic, useful, & inspirational info. "Expect the unexpected!"

Maukymauk, what a name --
from up there in Oregon.
What does your name mean, and how are you doing?
Came by to say Hi!
But you don't appear to be in --
That's ok.

Pretty! Thanks for this one, MM.

Monarch ButterFly Migration

The Monarch butterfly beauty in flight, and one of the wonders of nature -- especially in that they like to take a vacation every year, near and around, a place called, Angangueo, Mexico. They like to hang out in the trees (palm trees in particular, or so it appears) read about them at the site above or click on one of the pictures.

Read more about the Monarch Butterfly here at,

Now, the reason I wanted to do the story about the butterflies was because of another "Wonder of Mother Nature" that likes to vacation, too. But unlike the butterflies -- they like to travel to warm places as nearby as possible. Like inside the "Inns or Hotels" called "Houses or Homes" or "Buildings" per se.

I didn't know this until my family moved three years ago to this townhouse we're now at. These creatures normally kind of hang around outside in the summer and make their "melodic" noise at night. But I found out when I moved here -- after not hardly hearing or seeing hardly any of these creatures in years. They will come in and make their *NOISE*, which is not at all "melodic" when they're inside.

I found out that this is "Cricket" Haven -- and they will come in and "hole up" inside if they can. Unless, you outsmart them and stuff the cracks at the bottom of doorways with some type of caulking to keep them out, and that's what my family and my neighbors have to do all fall and winter long -- until the spring.

*THIS IS THE MOST CRICKETS I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. POOR US!*
